Customers meet at the café at least 15 minutes before their scheduled time and should wear athletic shoes and proper sun protection. Once equipped with a bottle of water, hiking stick, and any necessary rain gear, hikers embark on their trek. The 2- to 3-hour Makapu’u Lighthouse hike—available seven days a week at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.—takes an easy-to-intermediate path, and the Kuliouou Ridge trail—available Monday–Friday at 8 a.m.—offers a 3.5- to 4.5-hour intermediate route. The day trip—available Monday–Thursday at 8 a.m.—begins with a scenic drive to a macadamia-nut farm, followed by a hike on the Hau’ula Loop Trail.
