Two-Hour Intro to Scuba Diving or Open Water Certification (Up to 58% Off). Three Options Available.

Value: $69 From: $29

Humans have long envied fish for their ability to breathe underwater and swim naked without everybody getting all weird about it. Get slippery with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

Students learn the basics of aquatic breathing in a 2-hour session in a temperature-controlled pool. Before dipping so much as a toe in the water, the class covers the myths and realities of scuba diving, the setup and use of equipment, and underwater tea-party etiquette. Once the basics have been covered, classes gear up and head underwater for a series of submerged activities. This class constitutes the first step toward a full course for Open Water certification.

  • $119 for a four-night Tropical Referral Open Water certification course (a $279 value)

Students begin their education with a 4- to 5-hour online course at home, then learn the essentials of certification with four sessions composed of class and pool work. Thanks to GirlDiver’s connections through Scuba Schools International to fellow instructors in hot spots from Hawaii to Bora Bora, students finalize the certification at their leisure with four open-water dives over the course of a personal vacation.

  • $199 for a five-night Open Water certification course (a $429 value)

This weeknight program covers all educational sessions required for certification. All gear is included, except for a personal snorkeling system, which may be purchased or rented. Students must complete about 4 or 5 hours of online study, then dive into about 24 hours of class, pool, and open-water hours over the course of the week. Customers have a choice of a May, June, July, August, or September course.
